Diversity Policy

This page was last updated on: November 21, 2022

More on how we are ensuring that our platform and the world of skincare is a more inclusive and representative place for all races and genders.

We aim to be a vanguard for real, tangible change within the publishing and media industry. Our industry-leading diversity policy aims to support those from historically under-represented and marginalised groups.

Institutional racism in publishing and media is still an incredibly prevalent issue that must be resolved. Even in this modern age, we believe minorities do not receive the amount of compassionate representation they deserve.

This is unacceptable.

All brands within the AWG network are allies of marginalised and unrepresented people, regardless of their age, gender identity, race, cultural background, sexual orientation, body type, ability, and religious background.

Accountability

We’re taking a principled stand and refusing to provide media coverage to brands who are not aligned with our initiative.

Supporting diverse business

We believe that in order to create a more inclusive world, those of us with certain privileges need to do more to even the playing field.

We aim to support businesses owned by people from diverse and minority backgrounds whenever it is possible for us to do so.

We aim to achieve this goal through the offering of free promotional services.

Promoting diverse teams

We’re industry-leading in our diverse hiring policies. No longer will the credentials of an individual take priority; the circumstances of the applicant will also play a major role in our decision-making for employment.

We’ve implemented this to ensure that those from diverse and minority backgrounds do not continue to lose out to those from privileged backgrounds.

Promoting diverse movements

It’s no secret that we actively use our reach for positive change in the world.

Pledging to support social change and activism is a huge part of our ethos. We aim to be the change we wish to see in the world and help bring about a fairer and more inclusive society.

Training & education

We believe that all members of our team need to be on the same page, therefore, as part of our diversity initiative, all staff are offered diversity and anti-racism training.

Helping our staff become more knowledgeable on the trials and tribulations of marginalised people is something we believe is integral to ensuring we continue to suppress systemic racism within our industry.
